Open the Incident Command portal

Start a command board from a recent call or a blank incident and run PAR.

Launch it

On a computer or large tablet, select the Incident Command button in the portal header. The Command Portal opens full-screen. It isn’t offered on phones.

Start an incident

Pick a recent Active911 dispatch (if your department installed Active911) or start a blank incident. A template sets checklists and size-up fields for the incident type. The same call won’t open two boards.

Run the call

  • Assign units and riding positions to assignments.
  • Run PAR rounds; the clock warns you at the interval (5 minutes by default).
  • Declaring MAYDAY or evacuation starts a PAR round automatically.
  • Log benchmarks, hazards, resource requests, and ICS positions.
  • Use the map for command post, staging, hydrants, and preplans.

Other command screens pick up changes within a few seconds.

Close out

Review the closeout warnings, end command, and release units. File the NERIS report separately in Incident Reporting.
