Department chat

Chat New

Department chat built for phones. Administrators create channels for a shift, station, committee, or the whole department and choose which roles can read and which can post. Members reply, react, mention colleagues, and share photos and files — and new messages reach their phones as push notifications they tune per channel.

What we solve

Chat replaces scattered work with one accountable workflow.

Role-controlled channels with replies, reactions, mentions, files, link previews, unread counts, and push to members’ phones.

Problem 01

Department business in personal group texts

Department-owned channels with moderation.

Problem 02

Announcements buried in replies

Channels can be readable by everyone but postable only by certain roles.

Problem 03

Private groups need real privacy

Channel access is checked on the server for every request.

Problem 04

Notification overload

Per-channel levels, no push while you are viewing, and a push cooldown.

How it works

From setup to a record your department can trust.

Each step hands its context to the next instead of sending people back to a spreadsheet, inbox, or paper form.

Create channels

Name, emoji, topic, read and post roles, uploads, and default notification level.

Talk

Post, reply, react, mention, and share files, photos, and links.

Stay notified

Mentions and replies reach the bell and the phone.

Moderate

Pin important messages, remove messages, and archive old channels.

Part of one portal

Questions

Chat FAQ

Can members message each other privately?

Chat is organized into channels; there are no one-to-one direct messages.

What happened to Spaces?

Spaces has been retired. Department conversation now lives in Chat, and service requests live in Tickets.

Custom modules

Don’t see the workflow your department needs?

We build custom modules. Tell us what you track today, who touches it, and what a good outcome looks like — we’ll scope a module that lives inside the same portal, permissions, and member accounts.
