Prepare for and run a command board
- 1
Configure templates, tactical checklists, units, assignments, benchmarks, and preplans.
- 2
Open the Command Portal from the header button on a desktop or tablet-sized screen.
- 3
Pick a recent Active911 call or start a blank incident; the template sets checklists and size-up fields.
- 4
Assign units, run PAR rounds, and log benchmarks, hazards, resource requests, and ICS roles.
- 5
Transfer command with a briefing when needed.
- 6
Review closeout warnings, end command, and release units.

Each guide includes prerequisites, exact actions, verification, and troubleshooting—not just a feature summary.

RequiredCoreAnswers before you get stuck
Is this the same as Incident Reporting?
No. Incident Command runs the call; Incident Reporting files the NERIS report afterward.
Does it need Active911?
No. You can always start a blank incident. Active911 adds the recent-call picker.
Why don’t I see the Command Portal button on my phone?
The Command Portal is built for larger screens and does not launch on phones.
