Manage availability, schedules, open shifts, and trades

Submit availability, find your shifts, pick up open shifts, and request trades or time off.

Submit availability

  1. Open My Availability.
  2. Pick the open period.
  3. Paint the times you can work, or apply a saved pattern.
  4. Submit before the deadline. After the period is locked, ask for a late edit.

View your schedule

Open My Schedule once the schedule is published. Department Schedule shows everyone’s shifts that your role allows you to see. You’ll get reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before a shift by default.

My Actions at the top of My Schedule lists everything waiting on you: schedules to acknowledge, cover requests you have been offered, and trades a colleague has sent you. The same count appears as a badge on Scheduling in the sidebar, so you can see there is something to answer without opening the page.

Pick up an open shift

  1. Open Scheduling → Open Shifts.
  2. Check the date, station, position, and qualification requirements.
  3. Request the shift.
  4. Follow the decision under My Requests.

Trade a shift or request time off

Request a trade with a specific colleague; they must accept, and your department may also require a manager’s approval. Request time off by choosing the leave type and dates. Follow both under My Requests.

Answer a cover request

When someone calls out, a manager may send cover requests to qualified members in tiers. If you get one and can work, accept it. The first qualified member to accept gets the shift.
